Artist Statement
Wearing jewellery is like composing a love letter to yourself — a deeply personal act of expression and empowerment. My designs are intended to be more than adornment; they are symbols of strength and self-worth.
I aim to use contrasting materials, aesthetics, and textures to challenge the perceptions of masculinity and femininity, asking the viewer to reflect on the identity of women and gender in society. This interplay of materials serves as a metaphor for the adaptability and vulnerability of human nature.
Each piece is a narrative, offering a distinct perspective on the weight of these experiences. Some of my pieces displayed in this exhibition use materials passed down from my grandmother, holding great sentimentality and aim to express the influence of the women who shaped me while drawing inspiration of the landscape of my upbringing.
