Michael Scott Lewis
Artist Statement
Over the best part of 20 years I have worked with in the steel manufacturing industry. I have gained many technical skills over this time and I have gained a strong background in the process of engineering from a design aspect, hands on approach as well as a machine/tool application point of view. A combination of these attributes that I’ve gain over the journey, as well as my love for jewellery has led me on this path to create pieces that reflect my experience, knowledge, love and passion for all things intricate, unique, shiny and mesmerising. The techniques that I apply to my jewellery making differ somewhat from modern artists and makers in that I like to stick to traditional techniques and stay away from cutting edge technology, somewhat an old school approach. My jewellery resembles that of sharp lines, rustic and raw aesthetic and a combination of beauty and intricacy.
